About Us

Who We Are

The members of the Women’s Board are committed to improving the lives of our youth by hosting numerous fundraising efforts which support many special Court programs and services--including Arts education and YOGA classes for youth in detention, Christmas gifts for youth in residential settings, educational aids and a library for youth in Detention.

Women’s Board funds provide emergency clothing and household items for court-involved youth in need and the Juvenile Court’s Greenhouse Project where youth are given the opportunity to work alongside a Master Gardener to provide seasonal fresh produce to youth in detention. The Women’s Board has provided grants to the Juvenile Court to help renovate and re-open two halls in the Detention Center that now serve as rewards areas for good behavior where youth can play ping pong and other games or sing karaoke or play video games.

Many recent facility improvements to the detention center including lighting in the cafeteria and a full makeover of the gymnasium were spearheaded by Women’s Board funding. The Women’s Board commitment to the Juvenile Court and the youth and families it serves is unwavering after more than 60 years of service.
