WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE

More than 60 years of service

The Women’s Board to the Summit County Juvenile Court was formed in 1958 when Summit County women representing various civic, social, and religious organizations joined together to create this unique organization. The Women’s Board currently consists of approximately 40 active volunteer members and continues to be a vital source of assistance to the Court, its staff, and youth in Detention. The mission of the Women’s Board is to promote a sound program for children under the care of the Juvenile Court, and to promote volunteer services, encourage donations of private funds and raise funds for use above and beyond the scope of public monies.

How we support the court

The members of the Women’s board have underwritten the purchases of several capital improvement projects at the Juvenile Court while providing funds to purchase everyday necessities for youth on the caseloads of court staff. Our membership routinely logs over 4,000 volunteer hours annually.
